On July 14, 2013 I married the love of my life! We both feel so fortunate that we found each other, as “settling” was not an option for either of us! As I wrote in my vows, he is my prince charming, my best friend, my soul mate, and my partner-in-crime.
If you’re curious about the entirety of the vows, here you go:
I love you, Eliav Cohen, with all my heart. You are my prince charming, my best friend, my one true love.
Life over the past couple years has certainly been an adventure!
On our first date, we both adamantly agreed that we don’t “do” long distance relationships. Subsequently, we spent almost a year commuting between Seattle and Portland–it was hard, often filled with tearful goodbyes, but we certainly knew it was worth it! And adding in so many amazing adventures around the globe helped the time pass!
You’ve listened attentively when I’ve shared joyful stories from work, but you’ve also been a shoulder to cry on when I had to deal with heartbreaking situations. You’ve seen me at my best and at my worst, and still love me unconditionally.
I promise to treat you respect, trust and to support you in all your endeavors (even most of the crazy-sounding ones)
I promise to keep challenging you, but likewise, I promise to always be open to feedback and will continue to grow and learn alongside you. And I promise to allow you to be right (at least 20% of the time?)
I promise to continue seeking adventures in everyday life–whether on a hike across the street or under the sea in a far off land.
I promise to warm my cold hands and feet on you–and allow you to do the same.
I promise to always make your life fun and never boring, to tell you everyday just how handsome you are, and how much I love you.
So I stand here today in front of these witnesses, our amazing friends and family, staring into your handsome green eyes, to ask you a very important question;
Will you, Eliav Cohen, my best friend, my lover, my soul mate and my partner-in-crime be my lawful wedded husband?
